Room 10 Tawa School

Today we had a Powhiri to welcome new students to Tawa School and a visiting Montessori Preschool. In the middle session Room 10 enjoyed some time in the pool. In the afternoon we had a visit from 'Pack the Bus' and students generously donated items for people less fortunate than themselves. We look forward to the school trip to H20 Extreme next week.  Please ensure your Activity Fee is paid so your child can come. Many thanks Julie and Sam Check out the photos.

Tena Kotu This week we have welcomed A new student Nevaeh who is with us till the end of the year.  Nevaeh is Kauri, Hineira and Isaiah's cousin and she has already impressed us with her fantastic attitude to her learning. We revisited our class rules and discussed our school rules of respect and responsibility. We also welcomed the new furry addition to our class.  My family have a very new eight and a half week old puppy named Mac Boyd.  He has a crate and pen in the corner of the room.  At the moment he spends lots of time sleeping in his crate.  The class enjoyed learning about dog safety and meeting Mac.  It has been great to listen to the students share their ideas about how to be safe around puppies and dogs and to watch a Safety video also.  Please feel free to discuss the safety rules listed below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP-obIOijY4 It is great to see students remembering their togs on Mondays and also seeing overdue library...

Tena Korua, We have had a great week.  The class enjoyed their first school swimming session for the term and they were great at swimming some lengths. The students used their plan to make their floating vessel and it was great to see the diversity of ideas and final products. On Thursday the class enjoyed their first cricket session.  Photos to come another week.
