Kia ora This week we have been finishing off our goal setting and our learning maps.  A copy of the learning maps will come home today with a notice explaining them.  Please talk about them with your child.  We will also discuss these at the parent interview next week.  There are spaces available for you to make an appointment for next Monday or Tuesday. We are also testing Reading skills and tomorrow the Spelling Coloured Booklets should be brought back to school. Today we had a fun and active session with Kelly Sport.  The students got to try hockey, rugby, soccer skills and other fun activities.  If you are interested they are having sessions on some days after school, see the office if you are interested.  Check out the photos.

Greetings. Room 10 have worked really hard this week and completed our PAT testing. Thank you for letting your child bring in their items for the "All about Me" writing topic.  The writing was published and is displayed on the wall. The children are starting to get used to the routines and behavior expectations of Room 10. This week we made up our class treaty which states the agreed behaviours in our class.  We also made a waka with all our photos that represent us all on a journey together. We also made paddles with co-operative words on it.   We also read the Rainbow Fish story which has a message of the importance of friendship and sharing with others. We have swimming on Monday and we encourage you to get the ICT notices back to school so all the students can start using the electronic devices.  More photos to come. Have a great weekend. Sam and Julie

Thursday 9 February 2017 Kia ora to whanau of Ruma tekau, We have had a great week getting to know each other by exploring what is in our "About Me" paper bags. It was great to see students talking about why their special items were important to them.  It is great to find out about passions and interests the students have and it can give us ideas as to what students might be interested in learning this year and how we can deliver it to them in a way that will motivate them to be involved and as a result learn. We have been working hard at getting our routines for our literacy and maths programs.  Students are having to learn a lot of new routines and expectations so they will be tired and a sensible bed time is highly recommended on school nights. It is great to see students bringing their book bags to school and reading the books that are sent home.  Our spelling programme is up and running.  Here is the recommended process to help your child learn to spell unknown w
